Consumer Rights Awareness Week Comes to an End

The celebrations which opened on Sunday, 13th March, were held under the theme, “Consumers for Fair Financial Services.”consumer-wk-2

The main event scheduled for the closing day on Friday was a Financial Expo, hosted at the Independence Square, in Basseterre. Among those companies that participated were NAGICO, the Taiwanese Mission, the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange, the VAT Office, National Caribbean Insurance, Courts Finance, and others. The event was held from 10:00am until late into the busy Friday afternoon.

consumer-wk-3According to a Ministry release, other activities that were organized for the occasion was a panel discussion on the topic, “Fairness for Consumers Conducting Financial Transactions.”

The week was launched by Minister responsible for Consumer Affairs, Dr. Timothy Harris. There were also visits to schools, radio guest appearances and visits to the manufacturing sector on Wednesday, March 16.
