According to Damien O’Donohoe, the CEO of the Hero Caribbean Premier League, the nighttime charity match met every expectation. He said, “The night proved a massive success – bringing fans, players, legends and supporters together to enjoy the Biggest Party in Sport while raising money for this fantastic cause.”

He continued, “We were joined by some great names from the worlds of cricket and entertainment who made it an unforgettable evening. I’d like to thank everyone who took part for their support, and I’m proud that the money raised will have an impact on changing lives for young people in St Kitts and Nevis.”

A CPL source said that the charity game was “the pinnacle of an exhilarating two weeks in St. Kitts and Nevis”.

The charity game headlined a stellar list of all-star names, including former English fast-bowler Darren Gough; Indian spin legend, Murali Kartik; former West Indies batsman, Daren Ganga; Ashes winning Australian, Damian Martyn; former New Zealand cricketer and sports commentator, Danny Morrison and his fellow commentator and former West Indies paceman, Ian Bishop. These legends were joined by three current CPL coaches; Simon Helmot and Stuart Williams, alongside one of the best West Indies women’s cricketers in the region, Stafanie Taylor.

Also featured in the star-studded line-up were Manchester United legend Dwight York and the record-breaking West Indies batsman Brian Lara, along with another West Indies legend, the indomitable Sir Viv Richards.

The Thursday, July 2nd charity game was played between the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis XI and the Sir Vivian Richards XI. Spectators were treated to a night of fun cricket played by local, regional and international sports celebrities, politicians and sport enthusiasts. The Prime Minister’s XI was led by Attorney General Vincent Byron. At the end of the game, the Prime Minister’s XI was victorious scoring 164 runs. Chasing that total, the Sir Vivian Richards XI fell short by 11 runs.
