The 37th Anniversary of the Culturama celebrations officially came to a close on Saturday 13th August, when individuals who participated in the activities were rewarded.
The festival which started on July 21st and was slated to end on August 2nd , had seen their Cultural Street Parade and Last Lap postponed to a later date due to the passing of Tropical Storm Emily. The Delta Petroleum Street Parade however was held on the 6th of August after the Premier of Nevis; Joseph Parry announced that the general public will be given a half holiday to facilitate the event.
The many gifts that were presented to the winners were donated by the festival’s committee, businesses in Nevis and other individuals.
These gifts ranged from monetary donations, Blackberry phones, trophies, gift certificates, and household appliances.
Ms Eulalie Francis received $1,000.00 and a plaque for being chosen as the Patron for 2011 and Slogan Winner, Shadeano Browne, , was presented with a plaque and two complimentary passes to all Culturama 2011 activities (this which was done during the celebration).
Both the crowned 2011 Culturama King and Queen; Hollywood and Miss Santonnya Mills, were awardedEC$ 10,000 in cash prizes, with other fabulous prizes.
The 2011 Culturama Festival carried the theme Mas, Music, Fun for 2K11! Truly a Cultural Expression!
