Culturama Street Parade to be Held Today

Premier of Nevis Joseph Parry has announced that the Nevisian public would be given a half holiday from 12 noon to make possible the hosting of the Street Parade. High wind and heavy rain in Charlestown caused the Culturama Activity to be postponed.

“I do hope revelers come out in their numbers and celebrate in a peaceful yet joyous mood, I wish that there not to be any crime and residents and visitors alike will let tranquillity reign on our island,” said the Premier.

The troupes would begin the parade at the Nevis Cultural Complex on to the Samuel Hunkins Drive, move along Main Street, which will lead to the Reliable Motors, turn around at Reliable Motors, back on to Main Street and parade the Samuel Hunkins drive.

The Cultural Street Parade which will bring down the curtains of the 37th Annual Nevis Culturama Festival is slated to commence at 2:30pm.
