Culture minister outlines plans for 2017

During his contribution to the 2017 Budget Debate yesterday, the minister remarked that the changes will be designed to increase productivity in certain areas of the ministry.

“At this middle point of the first term of government, I am forced to undertake a very hard but realistic review of the pace and must admit to the honourable house that for the ministry to fully contribute to the national vision there has to be changes to some of its functions,” Greene said.

“My ministry, I commit and declare, will be engaging in business unusual, introducing a new norm through creativity and stakeholder participation as we continue to foster   a culture of excellence.”

Speaking specifically to the area of trade, Greene explained that the intention is to create a stable business environment that seeks to foster innovation and economic and social development.

He stated further that there will be a three-tiered approach to fulfilling the mandate.
