This is being facilitated through an essay contest that is being organized by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, ECCB, headquartered in Basseterre, St. Kitts.
The bank said in a recent statement that the competition is opened to students between the ages 14-19.
Students are required to write their essays on two important topics that have been pre-determined by the Central Bank, namely:
· What viable steps should OECS countries take to stimulate their economies and significantly reduce their national debts?
· Discuss the role of young people in shaping the future of the OECS countries.
The winners are to be rewarded with special prizes and grants, said the ECCB release, which also pointed out that both the school and the student are to benefit.
The deadline for the submission of essays is Friday 30th March, 2012. The Essays should be submitted via e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
