Dr. Douglas Celebrates with Constituents

 

In attendance were Cabinet Ministers, Executive members of the governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, the St. Kitts-Nevis Trades and Labour Union and the Diplomatic and Consular Corps.

In brief remarks, Prime Minister Douglas thanked the people of Constituency Six, “because we do not take them for granted. We thank them for their support; we thank each of you for your support over the years and for the support that we continue to expect and request of you very humbly in the years ahead.”

Prime Minister Douglas stated, “We thank you all for what you have been to the Labour Party, what you have been in terms of support to the Constituency Branch been and we thank you for recognizing as well what each of us has to do as individuals and as a country to move our country forward. God bless you so very much for this opportunity to worship here and for you to be with us as well as a congregation.”

Dr. Douglas added, “I want to emphasize in particular, that on the 2nd anniversary of the 4th term Election victory, we do not take anything for granted. It is because we take nothing for granted why we thought it was important to come here and worship with you, to give God thanks because we do not take God’s blessings and mercies upon us as a Party, as a an Organization, as a Government, as a people, as a country, for granted.”

Douglas said, “The privilege and honor is mine to a thank those who have come from the Government, those who have come from the National Party, and those who have come from the Diplomatic and Consular Community in St. Kitts to be with us here on this special occasion, “said Dr. Douglas.

He also thanked those who have come from other parts of the country as part of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party.

Prime Minister Douglas read the First Lesson, while the Second Lesson was read by Nigel Carty, Minister of Education and Information.

The homily was delivered by Methodist Minister, Joyce Rohan.
