Conducted under the theme,‘It’s a Love Affair with Labour’ the 2014 Week of Activities began on Sunday, 9th February with a church service at the Bethesda Moravian Church in Cayon and climaxed on Saturday 15th February with a Youth Rally at the St. Peter’s Community Centre that featured the Kollision Band, Karrisia Willett and Fantastic Tunda.
Prime Minister and leader of the St.Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, the Rt. Hon.Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and Dr. Drew addressed the energetic party supporters at the youth Rally in an atmosphere of love and togetherness.
Deputy Prime Minister and Parliamentary Representative for Constituency One, Dr. Earl Asim Martin; Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Two, Marcella Liburd and the Labour Party’s candidate for Constituency Seven, Dr. Vance Gilbert also attended the Youth Rally.
Other events on the Week of Activities line-up saw: a Walk Through in Keys Community on Monday 10th February, a health fair in Conaree Village on Tuesday 11th February, a visit to the Cayon Primary School and Panel Discussion on the topic ‘Transition and Transformation of Constituency Number 8’ held at the Cayon Community Centre on Wednesday 12th February, a Barbecue Night and Karaoke in Conaree Village on Thursday 13th February and on Friday 14th February (Valentine’s Day), a Love in the Air Balloon Release event which included a visit to the Deane- Glasford Primary School of which Dr.Drew is a past student.
The Cuban- trained medical doctor tended to his fellow constituents among others who attended the health fair which offered services such as blood pressure reading and glucose testing.
Dr. Drew is pleased that his hardworking team has been able to put together a week long series of wholesome, community-oriented events and is looking forward to future activities involving his fellow constituents.
He extends a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all who supported and contributed to the week of activities which has led to its success.
