According to Mr. Nisbett, who has been spearheading the event for many years, “Our appreciation has to be given to the corporate partners in St. Kitts, because they are the ones who have made sure that we are in a position to host the event.”

Nisbett said that, it is the financial contributions from individuals and companies like Hobson Enterprises, that allow his committee to fund the project, which he said has become a traditional event, looked forward to in St. Kitts, at Easter time.

While receiving a cheque from the Managing Director of Hobson Enterprises, Mr. Damion Hobson, Mr. Nisbett said that the contribution is essential and timely and it helps to defray the expenditure associated with the Aquatic Sports.

He said that the monies go towards providing trophies and other prizes for activities such as kayaking, swimming, boxing, music and other competitions that are part of the Easter extravaganza.

He said that every year they try to make the event more exciting, by introducing new activities while also enhancing those to which the public has become accustomed.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hobson reassured Mr. Nisbett that his company remains committed to supporting this and other events that deliver tangible benefits to the community at large.

The event is scheduled to start at 9:00am and will include long-standing events like the boat race, fashion modeling, fire eating, a special appearance by magician Tunka Abdorama and the “fetching” of the Ham from the greasy pole.
