The symposium is aimed at strengthening students’ academic and technical skills by shaping their understanding of business issues. It is also designed to inspire the students to consider entrepreneurship as an avenue for employment and will provide a forum for them to engage in discussion on entrepreneurship and innovation as two essential elements in economic recovery and stability.
The topics to be covered are:
- 1.Challenge Yourself: Take Advantage of the Opportunities of Entrepreneurship; and
- 2.Youth Empowerment Through Innovativeness and Creativity.
Troy Hendrickson, an entrepreneur from St Kitts and Nevis will speak to the first topic; while Mr Denis Noel of Grenada will address the second. The presenters will share their business stories in a creative and interactive way that will engage the students and stimulate discussion.
It is expected that having attended the symposium, the students will be enlightened about entrepreneurship and its benefits and will be better equipped to develop creative business ideas for the Business Innovation Contest. It is further expected that they will become cognisant of the fact that entrepreneurship can lead to the enhancement of their quality of life and the development of the ECCU on a whole.
