Electricity Outage Due to Breached Protocol by Marriott Staff

According to an Electricity Department Press Release issued on Thursday, 24th March, 2011, “At approximately 09:30 last night power station personnel at the St. Kitts Marriott Hotel breached protocols by connecting to the national grid without consultation.”

According to information which reached MiyVue.com, this action resulted in loss of electricity for the better part of an hour.

The release informs that management from the St. Kitts Electricity Department met with management of the St. Kitts Marriott Hotel shortly after the incident with a follow-up meeting being held at midday on 24th March.

Corrective measures were taken to ensure that the established protocols would be adhered to. The supply of electricity was restored to most consumers by 10:30 that evening.

The Electricity Department, in its release, apologised for the inconvenience which the interruption in supply caused to its customers.
