Basseterre, St. Kitts, 22nd February, 2018 (MyVueNews.com) – Reports reaching MyVueNews.com is that well-know former Nevis and West Indies cricketer Elquemedo Willett was rushed to hospital after falling at a sports event on Nevis.
Information available so far indicates that Willett was judging at a high school sport event in Charlestown, when he fell off a stand.
He was taken to the Alexandra Hospital, and a source has indicated that Willett is likely to be transferred to the JNF General Hospital on St. Kitts for further treatment.
Premier Mark Brantley, speaking at the first of his monthly press conferences, extended “well wishes” to Elquemedo Willett and to his family.
Brantley said, “We know that he was involved in an accident at the park, and we gather he suffered some injury. I want to extend to him our heartfelt sympathy and wish him all the very best for a speedy and full recovery.”
The Premier continued, “I want the family to understand that this Government cherishes and values Willett’s contribution and stand ready to do whatever we can to assist. We ask for the nation’s prayers for Elquemedo Willett and for his speedy recovery.”
