According to a Caribbeannewsnow release, the countries are expected to deliver the additional sugar by September 30 this year.
A Kaieteur Newspaper report stated that Jamaica led the production output of SAC member states last month, ahead of Guyana, Belize and Barbados.
According to the SAC, Jamaica produced 31,581 tonnes of the sweetener, ahead of Guyana with 22,232 tonnes. Belize followed with just over 18,000 tonnes, while Barbados produced half that amount.
Karl James, the SAC chairman, said with the Euro performing ahead of projections, member countries could see greater returns from exports to the European market.
