They said that 39-year-old Kerwyn Melville and his son, Jaliee, were shot multiple times and that another son, Shaquille, 16, was in hospital in a critical condition having also been shot multiple times.
Police did not give a motive for the killings, but neighbours said that the incident occurred at around 2.00 am (local time) on Friday. The police did not say whether or not there were other occupants of the house, but said they have recorded several spent shells from the area, where most of the murders so far this year have occurred as a result of ongoing warfare between rival gangs.
The killings have brought the total to 42, the number of people murdered here since the start of the year and police have said they would not tolerate any act of lawlessness during the Carnival celebrations that end on Tuesday.
