The competition promises to be a very entertaining one because both calypsonians have taken up the challenge against each other.
In a recent interview with MiyVue.com, Queen Anastasia said will be seeking a double crown after winning the Female Calypso Bacchanal.
“I know all eyes will be on the father and daughter battle, but I’m going to ‘bring it’ on the night of the show. My dad is a great calypsonian but, I am seeking to a double crown and I will surely be bringing my best performance on the night of the final,” she told this media house.
Socrates, on the other hand, said he is ready to defend his crown.
When asked his opinion about going up against his daughter on the night of the show, he said, “She is a strong contender with good songs, but I am still the defending monarch, I still have potential and it’s going to be a great competition.”
“The finals will be keenly contested but it will be left up to her and the other contestants to go out on the stage and execute a great performance and hope to impress the judges. I will however be doing my best and I still have some energy left in me and fans can expect nothing but the best on the night of the Calypso monarch finals,” he added.
