Female Juvenile Found Dead At Industrial Site

Information which has been provided by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force indicates that a report informing of the find was forwarded to members of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at about 3:13 p.m.

“A number of Police Officers from the various Departments in Basseterre responded immediately and their investigations revealed that Unique Browne’s (15 years old, of Wellington Road) lifeless body was found inside the yard east of an industrial building marked Chameleon and own by popular businessman Stacey Hobson.”

Reports reaching MiyVue.com suggested that Browne was shot in the head, and while the police inform that signs of injury were evident on her body, the cause of the injuries is yet unconfirmed.

“According to the detectives, Browne’s body had obvious injuries to the head and right shoulder but were unable to say what caused these injuries. Officers from the Crime Scene Department (CSD) processed the scene while the District Medical Officer (DMO) who visited the scene, pronounced Browne dead.”

The police report further explained that the Coroner was informed of the incident and the body was removed from the scene after permission was given. In order to determine the exact cause of Browne’s death, police indicate, a post mortem will be performed.

Further reports which have reached MiyVue.com indicate that one of the last places Browne was seen prior to her untimely demise was Club Kactus.

Investigations are ongoing and persons will information pertinent to solving this case, are asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 465-2241 extension 220, 230 or 231. The public is reminded that the principles of anonymity and confidentiality are still in effect.  

Since the commencement of 2011, the Federation has recorded four murders; Browne’s being the fourth, all of which have taken place in St. Kitts. The other three murder victims (in order of occurrence) are: Devon Morton of Upper Monkey Hill, St. Peters; Shawn ‘Tegreman’ Brazier of Pitcairn Street, Newtown and Quincy Liburd of Gingerland, Nevis.
