After a prolonged illness, Elvis “Star” Browne formerly of LaGuerite Village in St. Kitts died on Tuesday afternoon, after a short period in hospital.
Browne who was a former coach for the National Football Team and his home side, Village Superstars, began his career back in the 1970s representing the Basseterre High School.
He went on the play for the St. Kitts and Nevis before retiring to focus on his new coaching career.
He would later join the staff of the Department of Sport, a government agency.
Star Browne also gained much respect from his peers and many youth footballers for the role he played in the numerous football clinics he organized throughout the island.
Coach Browne died at approximately 12:45pm, Tuesday, 20th September, 2011.
He was 50 years old.
