Former Newtown Primary School Student to Lead Troops at Obama’s Inauguration

This is when Dr. Leonard Richardson, a Lt. Col. in the United States Air Force Reserve, carries out his responsibilities to lead the United States Air Force Reserve component during the Inauguration of the president on Monday 21st January.

Recognizing the achievement of this distinguished Dr. Richardson, Leader of the opposition People’s Action Movement, PAM, Mr. Shawn Richards has praised Dr. Leonard A. Richardson for the role he is about to play.

Richards said “The accomplishment of Dr. Richardson is indeed laudable and one that every youngster should emulate.  Dr. Richardson or “Lenny” as many would know him, was not only a brilliant scholar while attending the Basseterre High and Basseterre Junior High,  but also an even more brilliant and talented athlete, having broken and set many athletic records, some of which stand to this day. He was not born here but we can certainly lay claim to him as he was raised here in St. Kitts and as such we all consider him a brilliant and proud “Son of the Soil”.  On behalf of the People’s Action Movement I would like to congratulate him and his family on his tremendous achievement,” said Richards.
