On Monday night (3rd October) family and friends of 35 young footballers from across the federation of St. Kitts & Nevis came out to witness the youngsters in an exhibition match at the Warner Park Football Stadium.
They also were on hand to hear Liverpool and England legend John Barnes, announce the names of four talented footballers who will travel to Trinidad for a weeklong camp where there will be monitored by a Sunderland F.C coach.
It was also announced that eight prep. School coaches from the USA will be part of the program.
The young footballers selected by John Barnes were Hasani Flemming, Wasim Howe, Evansroy Barnes and Vinceroy Nelson.
Barnes told the selectees that they were chosen not because of their talent alone but because also of their attitude and discipline.
He also went on to tell those not selected that their non inclusion does not mean they should stop playing football. He assured them that disappointments are a part of life but what is important is how we react to disappointments.
The Digicel Clinic ran from Saturday 1st October to 3rd October 2011.
