Health officials are encouraging residents to stop guessing and take steps to know their status.

There’s one clear way to find out – Get Tested, said an official.  The National AIDS Secretariat is giving the opportunity to do that for free on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Independence Square, in Basseterre, confirmed the health official.

As customary, the test is also confidential and the process begins with counseling by trained Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) Providers.  The Government Lab also returns same day test results. 

Residents are also encouraged to go out and get free male and female condom demonstrations and HIV/AIDS paraphernalia.  This is a chance to be sure of your HIV/AIDS status, indicated the spokesman.
