A recent release from the St. Kitts Cricket Association, SKCA, said they are currently on a drive to raise funds to help one of their national players, Mr. Codville Rogers who is undergoing medical treatment in the United States.
In order to raise the much needed funds, the SKCA, indicated that it is currently planning various fundraising events, including cricket matches between St Kitts and Nevis Masters.
A game is equally planned for the Senior Island teams (St. Kitts and Nevis) scheduled for 20th May, 2012. There will also be a match to be played between a combined St. Kitts and Nevis team and the rest of the Leeward Islands. This is to be done during one of the rest days of the upcoming 3 Day Leeward Islands Tournament, scheduled to be staged in the Federation shortly.
A raffle is also being planned for later in the year when the three ODI matches are staged at Warner Park between West Indies and New Zealand.
Cricket fans and individuals who are interested in making contributions may do so through the National Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis, in the name of the “Codville Rogers Recovery Fund, account #10253202.
Rogers is also a former member of the Leeward Islands Cricket Team, playing his first match on February 19, 2004 against Jamaica. Batting at number two, Rogers made a duck and nine.
