However, it was because of this challenge that a young business woman decided to take the risk to invest her time and financial backing for a new carnival troupe that she says was inspired due to the lack of participation this year.
Owner of Plush Accessories, Kirah Griffin has revealed that the business place will be introducing a ‘Fusion Fantasy’ troupe for Sugar Mas.
Griffin, who is a former contestant in the National Carnival Queen Pageant back in the 1990s, said, “After the launch of carnival and it was realized that only two troupes would be parading. It was decided that there would be a need for more, in order for this year to really stand out as the best.”
She explained that it was then the idea came to her, for ‘Fusion Fantasy’. This troupe she said hopes to contribute positively to Carnival 40-40. “Our goal is contributing to help to make 40-40 carnival a success,” she remarked.
Griffin said with much brainstorming by the team, bright colours and an explosion of fantasy was developed and as a result the costumes created are the image of Bliss, Fantasia, Greek Goddess and Sweet Seduction.
She said the men’s section will also be included.
Special thanks were extended to Mrs. Corrine Poujade-Flanders for her creative and artistic work
She said registration has already begun. The troupe package includes costume, drinks and food. Entertainment will be provided by Small Axe Band which is the official Fusion Fantasy band as well as Tombstone International headed by DJ Benji.
