Grand Masters Coming from Under the Sea for Sugar Mas 2010

According to Hicks, the concept of “under the sea” emerged from the recent incident where the band’s equipment fell into the sea, while boarding the sea bridge to Nevis, where they were scheduled to perform, last summer.

“This will be one of our contending songs for Road March this year and we will also be naming the album, “From under the sea,” the band leader told MiyVue.com with a chuckle in his voice.

Not wanting to let too much out of the basket, Hicks only revealed two of the songs that will be featured on the album, namely “Unstoppable Crew” and “Under the Sea.”

GrandMasterSteetThe Grand Masters Band has won the Road March title for three consecutive years and will be seeking a fourth this year and what’s the possibility of that one may ask? Well, according to Mr Hicks, it is not a possibility, but a surety.

“When it comes to carnival, Grand Masters is always ready to entertain our fans, but most of all to defend our crown, when it comes to Road March. We are in the band house rehearsing on a weekly basis getting our material together and I assure you when we take to the streets of Basseterre, we are going to take that four peat,” said the confident band leader.

“I know the competition will be coming strong to take our title, but each year everyone of them say they are coming strong, but we have proved that we have been and will continue to be the strongest on the road and where ever Grand Masters music play,” he added.

Last year Grand Masters won the National Carnival Road March title with their 2009/2010 tune ‘Buss U Bubble’.
