Guyana Opposition Parties Discussing Partnership for Elections

An Opposition spokesman has made the case that a lack of unity amongst the parties trying to unseat the government, could discourage the youth from voting and a return to power of the PNC.

Micahel Carrington, of the minority Allianace For Change, (AFC), said that if they and other opposition parties contest the next elections as a fragmented force, most young voters would have the opinion that no one party would win a clear majority so they would refuse to vote and simply stay at home on polling day.Micahel-Carrington-Guyanas-Alliance-For-Change

Carrington said that the AFC could reconsider its previous decision not to form a coalition with the main opposition, People’s National Congress or the PPP. He said a decision will soon be made.
