Guyanese Woman Found at Airport With Cocaine in Shoes

The woman, according to reports, was intercepted sometime around 3:15 a.m. on 3rd June, 2011 by members of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU). She was reportedly about to embark a Jamaica-bound flight.

Further reports suggest that the woman was going through the airport when her bags were searched and ranks became a little suspicious given the amount of footwear the woman was carrying.

A source close to the investigation said that the woman indicated to CANU ranks that she was going on vacation.

It was discovered that the cocaine was concealed in the different pairs of shoes after a thorough search was conducted of her luggage.

Only two weeks ago a US national was nabbed at the airport with a quantity of cocaine. The man pleaded guilty and is currently serving his time in prison.
