Police say an autopsy on the body of 24 year old Nester Hazel revealed that death was caused by Bilateral Bronchopneumonia.
On Friday 12th October 2012, the resident pathologist performed the autopsy on the body to determine the cause of death.
Police also announced that there were no signs of foul play observed on the body.
It was indicated that at about 10:18 pm on Thursday 11th October 2012, officers of Criminal Investigation Department, Crime Scene Unit, and Special Service Unit responded to a report of a body found at Soho, Basseterre.
Initial investigation revealed that a passer-by found the body lying on the main road at Soho Village, Basseterre in the vicinity of Gary’s Fruit & Flower Shop.
The District Medical Officer was informed and on arrival, he pronounced the man dead.
The body found was later identified by a next of kin, as that of Hazel, formerly of Shadwell Housing.
The body of the deceased has been handed over to the family.
