When Couric asked if things have progressed to a “proper relationship,” Klum demurred: “I don’t even know if I can call it that. I don’t know.”
Kirsten became a point of contention between Klum and her future ex-husband Seal, who lashed out about the relationship in an interview with TMZ. (Seal later clarified that he never meant to imply that his wife cheated with Kirsten during their marriage; the couple announced their separation last January after seven years of marriage.)
Continued Klum of her new love interest: “He’s been with our family for the last four years . . . He’s cared for our entire family, mostly for our four children, helped us tremendously.” Klum and singer Seal, 49, share kids Leni, 8, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2.
“I trust him with my children’s life,” the German stunner continued. “He’s a great man . . . and we just got to know each other from a completely different side.
Despite the tension with Seal, “He’s moved on and so have I,” Klum explained.
“And it’s very hard when you start seeing somebody again. It’s hard then when everyone is watching you. It’s almost like you can’t have a real proper chance in a way . . .And I do want to date again. I’m turning 40. I don’t even know where it’s going to go.”
A source recently told Us Weekly of Klum and South African-born Kristen: “This summer the relationship developed into something more . . . This is someone she’s comfortable with.”
