ICCS to Host Catholic School Week


Catholic Schools Week is a celebration in which Catholic Schools host special Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and the community at large, said a statement from the institution.

The theme this year is “Catholic Schools Raise the Standards.”  The administration and staff of ICCS believe that we are doing just that, raising and setting standards in academics as well as instilling Christian Values in our students.  As many are aware ICCS has been given an amazing gift in terms of our facilities that are visible to travel across George Street, but what you can’t see, and what is even more important, is what is actually going on within the walls of our school,” said a spokesperson.

“To that end, we extend an invitation to the community to visit us here at ICCS during Catholic Schools Week.  This week will take place from January 28 – February 1.  There are days designated for all members of our community and on those days we invite you to join us for an Open House so you can tour our facilities and visit our classrooms,” continued the spokesperson.

Below is the schedule of events for Catholic Schools Week 2013:

Monday, January 28

            Mass in the church at 10:30 for the ICCS students and staff

Tuesday, January 29 (Corporation & Alumni Open Day)

Open House 9:00 am – 11:30 am.  This Open House is for members of the business community along with Alumni of St. Josephs, St. Theresa’s and ICCS.

Wednesday, January 30 (ICCS Parent Day)

Open House 1:00 – 2:30 for ICCS parents

2:30 – the end of the day a march through town to demonstrate our school spirit

Thursday, January 31 (Grandparents Day)

Open House 9:00 am – 11:30 am.  Grandparents of ICCS students are invited to come in and visit the campus.

Friday, February 1 (Parishioners & Catholic School Board Day)

10:00 am there will be a presentation of the living Rosary done by members of the student body along with the Christian Living Teachers.
