ICT/CTU Road Show Heads to Nevis

According to Mr. Ron Daniel, coordinator of the Nevis leg of the event, the initiative, which promotes business, education and community opportunities using the Internet and technology tools, is expected to expose everyone to the dynamics of technology.

The Program Director for the event, Mr. Bevil  Wooding, explained, “Our intention is the showcase the ICT innovators and innovations  taking place in St. Kitts and Nevis and also to demonstrate the opportunities  available through technology.”

The Road Show is coordinated by the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), in collaboration with its members and partner organizations and institutions.

The CTU is hosting the event with the support of the European Union funded ICT for Education, Diversification and Competitiveness (ICT4EDC) program and under the auspices of the Government of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Activities over the Road Show will include fora for entrepreneurs, parents, educators, policy makers, small and medium size enterprises (SMEs), ICT Innovators, youth.

Residents in Nevis are being encouraged to go out and participate.  This will be an all day   event, with workshops being run. It will take place on Tuesday June 15th 2011, from 9:00am, at the Occasions Conference Center.

Participants will be treated to a morning snack as well as lunch.  Keen participants will be able to win an IPAD FOR FREE.

Coordinator Ron Daniel is of the view that this is an opportunity that the youth in Nevis simply cannot afford to miss, as the island seeks to improve the competencies of the youth, while ensuring that the island remains on the cutting edge of technology.
