The annual event, now in its 20th year is hosted every September by the Embassy of Venezuela as a part of the local independence commemoration events.

The Venezuelan Independence Mini Marathon date has recently been changed to the 18th September, 2011 bringing the event closer to the actual Independence Day.  

The marathon is grouped into two sections, dividing it into two races, the juniors and seniors.

The races will take place from 4:00pm, starting at Cabbage Tree Hill, Cayon, for persons 13 years and over, while the other race which caters for  persons 12 years and under, will begin at the St. Kitts Masonry Products Ltd.

Both races are scheduled to begin simultaneously and will also both conclude at the Venezuelan Institute of Culture at Greenlands.
