Infamus Joins a Prestigious list of Regional Artist

Producer of the contest, Mr. Antonio Maynard praised the talent of Infamus saying, “The Haynes Smith organization is indeed proud to be presenting Infamus as our main special guest artiste for this year’s show. I believe that is a wonderful opportunity for him and for us. He’ll be showcased internationally and regionally of course on this particular show.

Maynard continued “We have had stars over the years as you know, this is a major feature of the pageant itself to (that is) to have a superstar come in and be the guest artiste such as Machel Montana, Claudette Peters and Allison Hinds.

He said he believe that Infamus is on the same level and they are proud that they come to a stage where they could choose one of our own to be the headliner.

Maynard said the night is going to be bacchanal night because KC5 Band will be providing the music and from recent rehearsals it is clear that Infamus will be “tight” in terms of his performance on the night.

“It’s going to be an excellent production from Infamus come right down with everything else especially Infamus performing in front of his home crowd,” he remarked.

Over the years in addition to those mentioned before, many renowned regional and international artistes have headlined the Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant including Jamesy P, Christopher Martin, Ziggy Rankin and Krosfyah’s Edwin Yearwood.

A slide show presentation of this year’s contestants was shown at a recent launch event, accompanied by   the tune ‘Pocketful of Sunshine’ by easily St. Kitts-Nevis’ most popular act and the headline act for this year’s pageant, Infamus.

A total of twelve talented beauties are set and ready to rock the stage in this year’s 32nd annual DigicelHaynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant, slated to take place come 29th December, 2011.

On Wednesday afternoon, a launch ceremony for the pageant was held at the ZIZ TV of the ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) located at Springfield. The press conference carried live on both ZIZ radio and television.

During the ceremony a sponsorship cheque to the tune of EC$ 40,000 was presented to Show Producer and Mr. Antonio Maynard by Digicel’s Marketing Manager, Mrs. Marsha Lindo-Chatterjee.

Vying for the prestigious crown this year are: Miss Saint Lucia-  Kadijha Mason (16); Miss Nevis- Erica Doras (16) Miss Jamaica -Aba Sykes (18); Miss St. Kitts Siobhan Phipps (15); Miss USVI -Bailed Dukes (14); Miss Anguilla- Keivanée Lake (16); Miss Antigua -Aalilyah Thomas (16);Miss Bahamas -Monesha Bowleg (15); Miss Barbados -Sacha Clarke (16); Bermuda – Shaunte Simons (18); Miss British Virgin Islands – Ashellica Fahie (16 ) and Miss Grenada -Kande Duncan (16).

It was revealed that a total of 16 countries applied and expressed much enthusiasm in partaking in the world-class spectacle.

Mr. Maynard informed the launch and ceremony’s audience that for the first time this year, contestants will be accommodated at the 4 star St. Kitts Marriott Hotel. Furthermore, he announced that in addition to the normal cash and tangible prizes, the queen and chaperone, this year, will be getting a 7-day cruise.

Additionally, along with a Blackberry phone compliments Digicel, the teen queen will also get a laptop.

Mrs. Lindo-Chatterjee congratulated Mr. Maynard and his team “on what we (Digicel) anticipate to be a fabulous production. You have a team of professionals who are hard working. Who are dedicated to the task and I’m quite sure that this year won’t be any different.”

Mr. Maynard expressed much appreciation and gratitude to the title sponsor.

“Digicel and Haynes Smith have become synonymous with high quality and great performance and indeed continue to enjoythe strong synergy created between us for the past six years or so. We areindeed delighted to be continuing our longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship with the official title sponsor-Digicel,” he stated.

The Texting Competition information and details were announced by Contestant and Activities Coordinator, Akilah Nisbett.

She informed that for Ms Photogenic Competition – Vote for the most photogenic contestant, and allow the winner to win a high end, BlackBerry phone by texting ‘P’ plus the area code of the country that the contestant represents to 1869764 TEEN (8336).

On the night of the show, for the Best Talent Text Competition, individuals (at home or at the show) are asked to vote for the contestant who they think performed the best talent on the night of the show and allow the winner to wina BlackBerry.
