The Iranian leade was welcomed at Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport by the vice president of the Council of State and member of the Politburo of Cuba’s Communist Party (PCC) Esteban Lazo Hernandez.
During his visit, Ahmadinejad will hold official talks with his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro. He will also give a key lecture at the Main Hall of the University of Havana and he will pay tribute to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti.
The Iranian head of state participated on Tuesday in the swearing-in ceremony of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega. Previously, he also visited Venezuela, where he met with President Hugo Chavez.
On Thursday, Ahmadinejad will travel to Ecuador, where he will conclude his Latin American tour.
Ahmadinejad visited Cuba for the first time in 2006 to participate in the 14th Summit of the Non Aligned Movement (NAM).
