Since the posting of the poll three days ago, the band has been leading with an average percentage of 25, daily.
Meanwhile, MiyVue.com contacted the Carnival Committee chairman, Clement O’Garro to find out who is leading the way before the official announcement which is expected on 3rd January (parade day), an according to him, “In my opinion the four most played song during the J’ouvert festivities were by Nu Vybes, Small Axe, Konris and Grand Masters.”
The judging of the Road March was done on J’Ouvert morning, 27th December between 5:00 and 10.00 and will be done again on 1st January, 2011 at the Grand Carnival Street Parade between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
On J’ouvert morning however, Small Axe’s “Drink as you like” seems to have been the most played song on the streets of Basseterre, but as usual, Nu Vybes International had the largest crowd.
On J’Ouvert morning, the registered song(s) had to have been played at least twice at each judging station in order for that song to be considered to win the 2010/2011 Road March title.
As revealed by the Carnival Committee, there were four judging points; Subway on Cayon Street, the old Treasury Building on the Bay Road, National Bank at West Independence Square Street and Development Bank on Church Street.
At this point, it is anybody’s game and the bands and their supporters are expected to be out in their full strength during the Grand Parade and Last Lap.
