Now, the owner of that company, Mr. Maurice Widdowson of Island hopper, has finally cleared the air, issuing a press release, to explain exactly what is happening with his establishment.
“To clarify our situation I would like to advise all our friends and customers of the following. The only business that will close on April 30th 2012 is Island Hopper, The Circus, Basseterre. Island Hopper Exotic Furniture at the C.A. Paul Industrial Site will remain open and indeed improve its facility,” said Widdowson.
He added that Caribelle Batik at Romney Manor, Old Road is embarking on an expansion and improvement programme and the Wingfield Estate will become a major tourist attraction during 2012/13.
“Both Caribelle Batik at Romney Manor and Wingfield Estate are receiving considerable investment to establish and maintain them both amongst the regions premier destinations,” said a confident Widdowson.
In what appeared o be a direct message to his customers and the public generally, the business owner said, “I thank you all for your many concerns and assure you that I will continue to invest in and promote St. Kitts by supplying excellent facilities for our visitors and all who benefit from our developing tourist industry.”
