A report said around 8.30 pm, Customs and Excise officers searched the luggage of a passenger arriving on Caribbean Airlines BW 415 flight from Jamaica. They allegedly found 29 packets of marijuana with a street value of $50,000. Yesterday, director of the Public Affairs Unit of the Police Service, Sharon Lee Assang, said local law enforcement officers were working with their counterparts in Jamaica to stop the drug trade between the two countries.
She added: “The OCFNU is working with drug enforcement agencies throughout the world to ensure and protect our borders and patrols. They are actively pursuing and are working with their counterparts.” (CC)
