Jamaicans in St. Kitts and Nevis Preparing for Major Independence Celebrations

Included in the proposed activities is an essay competition, as well as dance workshops, a Jamaican food fair, a night of Jamaican comedy and lectures.

An official from JamKitt says that a major community project is currently being undertaken and is related to the treatment of persons suffering from renal failure and the provision of information to the general public on the prevention of same.

In pursuit of this objective, the official stated that they are currently in discussions with the Ministry of Health towards effective completion of their project.

With the motto “Goodwill and Unity through Service”, JamKit Association aims to unite its members in fellowship and to positively contribute in service to the community.

Some of the projects the Association has been involved in include:

1. Haitian Earthquake Relief

2. Annual Salvation Army Kettle Drive

3. St. Kitts Carnival Celebration with our JamKit J’Ouvert Troupe

4. Domino Competitions against citizens of Dominican Republic residing in St Kitts, as well as two (2) competitions among non-national associations of the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago and JamKit.

The JamKitt Association is a group of Jamaicans and friends of Jamaicans living in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Jamaica achieved full independence on August 6, 1962.
