The show began with a dance tribute to the former Green Valley Chairman who died suddenly in 2011.

There were also a number of side show performances by the Cayon Jiggy Dancers, and Dj Dangles, among others.

The night climaxed with the 2011 winner Shadia Dore crowning the new queen.

The pageant ended shortly after 1:00 a.m.

The event took place at the Sandbox (Maynard’s Park) and was hosted by Nicola Thompson.

The Green Valley Festival will continue tonight with the Senior Calypso Bacchanal.   jerleen
