In a simple presentation ceremony on Wednesday, the committee chairman Anthony Johnson explained that the gesture is one that has been ongoing for the last five years.
“Today we are extremely pleased that due to the tremendous support of our corporate partners and our patrons, we are able to present a cheque in the sum of EC$5,000 to Operation Future. I urge that this cheque, though it may be small in nature, goes somewhere towards assisting in the works of Operation Future,” said Johnson.
He thanked all interested parties that played an integral role in the successful hosting of the 2014 edition.
Lauston Perciville, a member of Operation Future and officer in the Police Force, thanked the committee for its donation.
“Operation Future, when we started out 10 years back, I for one didn’t expect Operation Future to reach where it is right now. The aim was basically to go to the schools and talk to the children about social ills. But here we are today, we have achieved so much, and we could only achieve with assistance from persons like Team Inception,” Perciville disclosed.
Over the years a lot of charitable organizations have formed and closed, said Perciville, as he expressed the view that Operation Future is “here to stay”.
Meanwhile, Ermelin Sabastian, who is also a member of the committee, explained that the Inception Fete is known for its world-class entertainment, unlimited fun, food and drinks, adding that over the years the event has become one of the most anticipated for Sugar Mas.
Further, she explained that the promoters saw the need to adopt a charity and the choice for the Team Inception Committee was Operation Future.
