JetBlue, Seabourne team up for improved service to federation

Seabourne’s president and CEO Gary Foss told the media that he is “honoured” that JetBlue believes in the quality of customer service the airline provides.

He said, “We are excited to expand our partnership with JetBlue… Providing improved connectivity in our common hub of San Juan will add tremendous value to Caribbean residents, visitors, and businesses.”

JetBlue has been expanding its services throughout the Caribbean aggressively over the past year. According to Scott Lawrence, JetBlue’s vice president for airline planning, the new codeshare agreement allows the airline to capitalize on Seabourne’s local reach in what he considers to be a “win-win partnership”.

He said, “Our codeshare agreement with Seaborne makes traveling to the Caribbean easier than ever, and that’s the way a beach vacation or family visit should feel.”

Through the new agreement, JetBlue extends its reach to Nevis, St. Kitts, Tortola and Martinique.

Seaborne also has codeshare agreements with American Airlines and Air Europa. The effect is that travellers experience seamless interchange between carriers and generally a higher level of service from the airlines involved.

For the airlines, the network expansion provides opportunities for increased passenger load to destinations, a situation that a Nevis tourism official said is most welcomed.
