While speaking at the ceremony Mr Barnes said that he is happy to be back in St. Kitts and stated that he knows that St. Kitts is bursting with talent and assured his hosts that he knows the quality of talent here and is looking forward to working with the new talent.
Barnes also explained that despite the abundance of talent, the young footballers also need support and empowerment and he boasted that St. Kitts is the most impressive in that regard.
Mr Barnes thanked the SKNFA for having him and also thanked Digicel for giving him the opportunity to coach the young talent here in the Caribbean and also thanked them for the development of the programme.
Mr Johnson while making brief remarks outlined that Jamaican born Barnes was an Inspiration, motivator and that he pioneered Caribbean football during a time when Caribbean footballers were not considered by top clubs in the world.
The Digicel Kick Start Clinic will commence on Saturday, 1sts Saturday, at the Verchilds Playing Field and finishes with a performance match on Tuesday 4th October, following which four footballers will be selected to go to Trinidad for a week long training camp.
