The revelers were in a height of jubilation as they pranced to the popular music of Small Axe Band, including songs from their 2011 carnival album, along with some new ones for 2012.
This helped to create a festive atmosphere as they mas-makers made the slow trek to the culmination point at Pump Bay.
The day also saw a number individuals outfitted in costumes, bringing a unique touch to the celebrations.
Following the J’ouvert, it is said that there will be an afternoon filled with water sports, fun games and musical entertainment by the Small Axe Band with live DJs.
Upcoming events for Black San’ Bang-a-Lang are: Bang – a – Avenue on the 12th and 13th and, Knock Shore Night, on the 14th, Carib King ah de San Kaiso Competition on the 15th and the Black San’ Parade on the 21st April.
