Buju, whose given name is Mark Myrie, had applied for permission to perform at the concert on 23rd November but his motion was dismissed by United States Judge Anthony Porcelli on the grounds that he was a flight risk.
However, in overturning the ruling on Wednesday 1st December, Judge James Moody cited that the issue had been already addressed when Buju was released on bail in October.
Wednesday’s ruling will now allow Buju to earn money to pay for his security detail which is costing US$20,000 monthly.
He is expected to perform at the concert, dubbed ‘Before The Dawn’, which will be held at the Bay Front Ampitheatre in downtown, Miami.
Other prominent reggae artistes are expected to perform at the concert which is being produced by Rockers Island.
