The show started out, on Friday evening, with an impressive introduction by the ladies which also featured the then reigning queen, Ms. Siobhan Phipps. The show was then rotated with the junior calypso show which featured 12 young calypsonians.
The performing talents by the ladies included singing, dancing and dramatizing which was captured by Junika, with a combination of a song and dance.
A sizable crowd was on hand, with high school students who came out to represent their respective schools. They made their presence felt whenever the school they supported made an appearance.
Ms. Berry won four out of the five segments which included Best Ambassadorial Speech, Best Ambassadorial Dress, Best performing Talent and Best Teenage Wear.
The other segment, Best Interview, went to Ms. Ashlee Franks, from the ICCS.
The other ranked contestants were Ms. Basseterre High School Monique Johnson 3rd Runner up; Areisa Periria Verchilds High School, Second Runner-up, and 1st Runner up went to Ms. Ashlee Franks.
Also on the evening, Singing Solution defeated ten other competitors to win in her first attempt at the junior calypso monarch. The other winners were King Scribbles in First Runner-up, Ms. Karismatic, Second Runner-up, Third Runner-up was Lady Nia.
The next major carnival event scheduled for this weekend is the Female Calypso Bacchanal tonight, Saturday 17th December, at Carnival Village.
