Juvenile arrested for alleged bullying

Though not considered a problem of great proportions as yet, school authorities, parents and the police are working to make sure that there is no escalation in years to come.

A recent incident in St. Kitts however has taken the matter to a higher level.

During a live radio and television program last week Thursday, 27th February, 2014, looking at the topic of Issues in Education, it was mentioned by one caller that a report was made to the Cayon Police station, complaining that a female student was bullied by a male juvenile.

However, despite the complaint being made, stated the caller, police had done nothing to address the matter.

Police on the weekend responded to confirm that they have indeed taken action, and that the juvenile in question has been remanded at the prison.

The police indicated that they take such allegations seriously and pointed out that they have a full time police officer stationed at the school in question.
