Karrueche Tran came under fire by Beyonce fans yesterday after she made a comment about the 2-year-old on live television, but she says it’s not her fault.
It all happened during BET’s 106 and Park, where Karrueche was serving as a guest host of the day. During one of the segments they did a top six list of things that Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy thought about during the MTV Video Music Awards and Karrueche said:
I really did wake up like this because my parents didn’t comb my hair. Sorry Blue! I love you!
It was obvious that Karrueche was reading off of a teleprompter, so she was almost set up for the fall. She took to Twitter to say it wasn’t her who came up with the joke, but by that time it was too late.
Now y’all know I LOVE me some Beyoncé and Blue Ivy!
I didn’t write this script y’all lol
That joke was in such poor taste. It’s unfortunate that Kae didn’t have enough balls to say “I’m sorry but I’m not saying that about a child,” if it made her feel uncomfortable. She was used as a scapegoat. If BET (a Black Entertainment Network) can make jokes about Blue’s hair on their flagship show geared towards teens and young adults, why not Fox News? It is an uproar when other races are insensitive to black natural hair, but it’s okay when we talk about our own.
No it’s not, and it’s embarrassing.
