Prime Minister Douglas stated, “Here we have no less than about 15 local contractors working in concrete and working in wood separately and also specifically working on the roof for the cottages that are now under construction.”
Dr. Douglas, who is also the Parliamentary Representative for the area said the project holds the promise “with the official opening of the first phase on the 12th day of the 12th month in 2012.
“Kittitian Hill project is a local project,” said Dr. Douglas, who expressed thanks to Mr. Val Kampadoo for the ideas for the specific designing of the project which blends all of the natural environmental aspect.
“It speaks to a large extent of the planning of this government; the support that has been provided by the developers and the tremendous out pouring of support as well from all who are providing services here at the Kittitian Hill site,” said Prime Minister Douglas, who also thanked the support Staff at the Kittitian Hill offices in St. Paul’s and Basseterre.
He also thanked the chairman and members of the Sugar Industry Diversification Fund (SIDF) for the tremendous financial support that has been given to this particular project at a time when the region and the world are experiencing the worst prolonged financial and economic crisis.
Local contractors and construction workers employed at the Kittitian Hill project have come in for high praise from the Prime Minister.
