The Nursing Excellence Program, features six winners for six categories which are; Advancing & Leading the Profession, Clinical Care, Community Service, Management, Mentoring and Teaching.
Ms. Brookes was nominated and chosen as the regional winner of the Mentoring Category.
Ms Brookes is currently employed at the Baptist Health System in Florida, but prior to that, she worked as a Nurse Administrator in the USA for close to 30 years and was trained in London at the famed Guys Hospital.
“Congratulations on your selection for this wonderful honour! As a regional WINNER, your nomination will now proceed to the national level of our Nursing Excellence program, and you will be eligible to be named a National Nurse of the Year in your category of Mentoring,” said Eileen Williamson, Senior Vice President, Nursing Communications & Initiatives Office.
“As a regional WINNER you will also be featured in an upcoming issue of NURSE.com, along with the five other WINNERS from your region,” said Williamson.
Ms Brookes and fifty-four (54) other regional Winners, from nine (9) NURSE.com regions will be judged again for the title of National Nurse of The Year.
Six persons will be chosen as the National Winners, and Nurse of the Year.
The six will then be notified in October, and then in November.
They will be featured in a story in an edition of NURSE.com’s magazine.
