The gospel-laced track was released last Wednesday and is a collaborative effort with dancehall singjay Mr Vegas, who has production credits.
The single speaks of God forgiving spirit and his goodness.
“I think the crowd will love this one because it’s of the same vibes as I am Blessed and if there is one thing about Jamaicans, they love God,” she told the Jamaica Observer.
God A God comes on the heels of Jamaica Land We Love and So Heartless featuring DA Jay, both released in May this year. They were produced by Notice Production and J-Projek, respectively.
Latty J, whose given name is Latoya Jackson, is no stranger to the limelight.
In 2006, the former Papine High student won Female Vocalist of the Year in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) ‘In-School Festival’. She was rewarded with a scholarship to attend the Edna Manley School of Visual and Performing Arts.
Subsequently, she placed second in the 2011 Digicel Rising Star Competition.
Latty J describes herself as a soulful singer.
“Whatever I’m singing, I know the audience will feel it. I think when you can relate to the music it will impact on you more,” she said.
