According to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Press Secretary, Erasmus Williams, the Order Paper – which has been circulated to members by Clerk of the lawmaking body, Mr. Jose Lloyd – indicates that Prime Minister Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, who is also the Minister of Finance, will be introducing and have read for a first time, the Housing and Social Development Levy (Amendment) Bill, 2011; the Captive Insurance Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2011, and the Proceeds of Crime (Amendment) Bill, 2011.
The release further indicates that not only will these pieces of legislation receive their first reading, but will also be debated and passed into law.
Having had its first reading on 25th November, 2010, Deputy Prime Minister Sam Condor, who is also the Minister of National Security, Labour, Immigration and Social Security, will move the second reading of The Interception of Commutations Bill, 2011.
Also introduced and given its first reading in National Assembly on 25th November, 2010, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Posts, Glenn Phillip, will move the second reading of The Electronic Transactions Bill, 2011.
