LIAT estimates $35M in Insured Losses

A highly placed source, who had earlier spoken of an EC $100 million price tag, told OBSERVER Media this figure had factored in the cost to LIAT to replace what was destroyed.

The major blaze Sunday destroyed a Dash 8 passenger aircraft, buildings, copies of aircraft and other company records, tools, equipment and many other items critical to the airline’s operations.

In a short press release yesterday, LIAT assured that it continues to maintain “normal operations throughout its network.”

It went on to thank the scores of customers, well-wishers and members of the public that have called or sent messages of support to the airline following the disastrous fire
